The development plan of Bakhmaro is changing

The government instructed the Spatial and Urban Development Agency to update the Bakhmaro development plan. The agency is also tasked with "creating new resort settlements" to study the surrounding areas of Bakhmaro and plan accordingly.

On November 27, 2025, Irakli Kobakhidze signed the decree "On the implementation of appropriate measures for the development of the Bakhmaro recreational area of Chokhatauri municipality". Updating the city-building plans approved by Resolution No. 589 and presenting the appropriate project for consideration at the meeting of the Government of Georgia, as well as studying/planning the surrounding areas for the creation of new resort settlements" - it is written in the decree of the government of November 27, 2025.

For information: Bakhmaro is approved by the government's resolution N589 of 2019 The textual part of the city planning documentation of the recreation area, the general plan of the Bakhmaro recreation area and the development plan of the Bakhmaro recreation area together with the attached maps. By the same resolution, the decree of 2017 "On the approval of city-planning documentation of Bakhmaro recreation area" was canceled.

In order to update the development plan of Bakhmaro and facilitate the necessary measures to create new settlements in the surrounding area of ​​Bakhmaro, according to the new decree of the government, all relevant state agencies were instructed, and Chokhatauri Municipality was asked to coordinate with the Spatial and Urban Development Agency.
