In terms of the number of tourists, 2025 is evaluated positively

In the end, 2025 exceeded expectations, Shota Burjanadze, the founder of the Association of Restaurateurs of Georgia, announced that he attended the meeting of the head of the National Tourism Administration and the representatives of the Georgian Business Association.

According to Burjanadze, this year was successful in terms of the number of tourists.

"The beginning of the current year was not very favorable for the field of tourism, but in the end, the year 2025 exceeded expectations. In terms of the number of tourists, I can evaluate this year very positively. Meetings between businesses and the tourism administration are welcome. Because we have the opportunity to share with each other the challenges, ideas and problems that are relevant in the field of tourism", - says Shota Burjanadze.

The Deputy Minister of Economy and the head of the National Tourism Administration introduced the 2026 projects and plans of the administration to the members of the business association and representatives of the tourism sector. this.   Representatives of various business and tourism sectors got acquainted with the ongoing projects, marketing campaigns and planned activities of the National Tourism Administration.

Current trends in the field of tourism were discussed at the meeting. Maya Omiadze paid special attention to the diversification of tourist markets, attracting high-income tourist flow and strengthening the direction of business tourism (MICE). In this regard, the National Tourism Administration conducts combined marketing campaigns in targeted tourist markets. Among them: the European Union and Great Britain, China, India, as well as the countries of the Persian Gulf.

This trend will not only continue in 2026, but new opportunities for the development of tourist offers and products will be identified, new tourist places will be developed, as well as programs supporting the strengthening of the private sector will be expanded and others.

It was also announced at the meeting that Georgia will become one of the largest tourist destinations in Asia in 2026. Li will be the official host country of the ITB Shanghai exhibition. The importance of deepening the cooperation of the public and private sector in the development of tourism was particularly emphasized at the meeting.
