As a result of the construction of the new airport, the passenger flow will increase from 4 to 18 million

We have ambitious plans in the direction of airports, Irakli Kobakhidze, the candidate for the Prime Minister of Georgia, said during his speech at the plenary session of the Parliament.

Irakli Kobakhidze drew attention to the international airports of Tbilisi and Kutaisi and noted that there is a growing flow of visitors in Georgia, which needs to be promoted.

"Tourism is one of the most important directions of our country's development, and naturally, the airport infrastructure should catch up with the development of tourism in our country. The passenger flow will increase from four million to 18 million after the new Tbilisi International Airport in Vaziani is built. The implementation of this mega-project will be ensured in due time. Also, the expansion of the Kutaisi International Airport has begun. Today's passenger flow is 1.7 million people and it is planned increasing resources up to 5 million", said Irakli Kobakhidze.

The Prime Minister candidate also spoke about the Black Sea Power Transmission on the importance of the cable and noted that its implementation will be completed by 2030.

"Here we are talking about electricity transit as well as Internet transit. We will have the opportunity to directly transport electricity to, for example, EU countries, after this project is completed. The project is being implemented together with partners, including many EU member states," Irakli Kobakhidze noted.
