The construction of the Ricoti highway has been completed

The construction of the main road at Ricoti Pass has been completed and traffic will be fully opened on the new 52-kilometer, 4-lane expressway of Ricoti from the afternoon of December 30.

Ricoh highway is 52 kilometers long and includes 51 tunnels and 97 bridges. Among them, the length of the longest tunnel is 1 kilometer and 800 meters, and the length of the longest bridge is 1 kilometer and 362 meters.

The new highway is fully equipped with a modern lighting system and complies with international road safety standards. The commissioning of the road reduces the travel distance by 8 kilometers and halves the travel time.

As a result of the completion of the construction of the new road on Ricot, from December 30, road transport will use a continuous, 4-lane high-speed highway from Tbilisi to Samtredia, which significantly improves the internal and transit traffic of the country.

In 2019, the construction of the 4-lane highway at the Ricoti pass started in four sections. The traffic was opened gradually - the first 2-kilometer section of the road It was commissioned in 2020.

The new highway of Ricoti bypasses all settlements, including the town of Zestafon, which reduces traffic flow in settlements and increases traffic safety.

As part of the project, shopping spaces for local entrepreneurs were organized on both sides of the new road near the village of Shrosha, which contributes to the development of the local economy.

The main road of Ricoti is an important section of the East-West International Road Corridor (E60) and one of the key infrastructure projects of the transport network of Georgia.
