A memorandum of understanding was signed between APA and EDA

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Protected Areas Agency and the Export Development Association (EDA).

The memorandum was signed by Besik Amiranashvili, the chairman of the Protected Areas Agency, and Maka Zhamurashvili, the financial representative of the Export Development Association (EDA).   The initiative will be implemented with the financial support of bp.

The memorandum envisages equipping the ecotourism infrastructure of Vashlovani protected areas with renewable energy, including solar energy systems, which will contribute to safe and sustainable energy supply, reducing environmental impact and compliance with international ecotourism standards.

Within the framework of the memorandum, it is also planned to train the employees of Vashlovani protected areas in the direction of safe operation of solar energy systems.

Cooperation serves to protect the natural environment and biodiversity, increase visitor safety, and strengthen protected area management capabilities.
