The problem of unclean roads in Gudauri has affected business

During the winter season, the condition of the roads in Gudauri remains a problem, which, as they say in business, has a negative impact on the reputation of the resort and causes economic losses.

According to the head of the hotel management group, the authorities failed to clean the snow-covered roads in time on New Year's Day, due to which vacationers could not physically reach the resort. As a result, hotels canceled reservations en masse and refunds to guests became necessary.

For years, the private sector has been demanding that the state mobilize special equipment in Gudauri and Bakuriani, however, according to their assessment, the problem is still unsolved.

"The equipment has to be fixed there and the equipment has to be unbroken, it's very easy to organize it, the logistics have to be there. We depend mainly on the winter, especially on the New Years, because it's the New Years, which has to make up for the deficits, the expenses that we have in the summer. It's an economic and reputational blow," & #8211; says Maya Murachashvili. 

According to business representatives, there are difficulties not only on the central road, but also in internal movement, which additionally affects the quality of tourist services.
