Ukraine and Moldova joined the roaming space of the European Union

Ukraine and Moldova have joined the EU roaming space. They will travel at the same rate as in their own country.

On January 1, 2026, Ukraine and Moldova joined the "Like Home" zone, allowing their citizens to enjoy the same free roaming benefits that EU citizens have had since 2017.

Citizens of Ukraine and Moldova can now use mobile phones – including making calls, sending text messages and using data – throughout the EU and other associated countries without additional charges. The same benefits apply to EU citizens connecting or traveling to Ukraine and Moldova.

This policy is based on the principle that when you travel to another Member State of the No Roaming Zone, your mobile calls, texts and data work just like at home and you will not have to pay extra roaming charges.

President of the European Commission According to Ent's Ursula von der Leyen, all roaming charges with Montenegro and Albania are expected to be abolished by 2026.

"It's good for business, it's good for tourism and it's especially good for bringing our people together," he said during his recent tour of the Western Balkans.
