Direct air traffic between Georgia and Slovakia has started

Direct regular air traffic between the capital of Slovakia and Georgia has started. Wizz Air operates on the Bratislava-Kutaisi-Bratislava route three times a week, and will add a fourth frequency from March. Flights are performed by modern Airbus A321neo aircraft. 

Until now, there were no direct flights between Georgia and Slovakia, and the Bratislava-Kutaisi route is the first direct air connection in this regard.

Bratislava is one of the most important airports in Central Europe, located at the shortest distance to Vienna and Budapest. This geographical location creates additional opportunities for Georgian citizens in terms of tourist, cultural and economic trips.

Currently, Wizz Air operates from Kutaisi International Airport to 24 destinations in 12 countries. Among them, the Lyon route was added in the summer of 2025, and at the end of the year the airline started direct flights to Venice. was Since 2012, when it started operating in Georgia, Wizz Air has transported almost 9 million passengers from Georgia and vice versa.
