Direct regular air traffic between the capital of Slovakia and Georgia has started. Wizz Air operates on the Bratislava-Kutaisi-Bratislava route three times a week, and will add a fourth frequency from March.

The official event held in connection with the first inaugural flight was attended by the Ambassador of Slovakia to Georgia, Matush Bushovski, the General Director of the Union of Georgian Airports, Levan Moseshvili and the head of DMO Imereti, Mari Devidze.

According to Levan Moseshvili, until now there was no direct flight between Georgia and Slovakia, and the Bratislava-Kutaisi route is the first direct air connection in this regard.

"From today, another important European destination - Bratislava has been added to Kutaisi International Airport. This is an important step in the direction of diversification of our air routes and the result of a successful partnership between the Association of Airports of Georgia and our strategic partner Wizz Air. of war. With the launch of this route, direct flights between Georgia and Slovakia became possible for the first time from Kutaisi International Airport.

The new direction will further strengthen the role of the Kutaisi International Airport in the region and create additional opportunities for both passengers and the development of tourism and aviation in Georgia, Levan Moseshvili said.

On the first flight from Bratislava to Kutaisi, 192 passengers arrived and 237 departed. The passengers of the first flight were traditionally given symbolic gifts organized by the Association of Georgian Airports.
