The impact of the current events in Iran will be minimal for tourism
The impact of the current events in Iran on Georgia's tourism sector will be minimal, Galt & Taggart expects.
The investment bank notes in its macroeconomic review that Georgia's economic dependence on Iran is mainly limited to tourism, where tourism revenues from Iran were only 2.7% of total revenues in January-September 2025, and considering this low dependence, it will not have a significant impact on Georgia's tourism sector if the current instability in Iran continues.
Galt & Taggart predicts that the country will receive 4.9 billion dollars from tourism this year, and the figure will reach 4.6 billion dollars in 2025, which is an increase of almost 6% annually.
