Tbilisi ranks second among the most popular destinations in Europe by 2026 - Tripadvisor

Tripadvisor has released a 12-month survey of the global travel community that shows what really attracts travelers. Dozens of publications compile annual "places to travel" lists. However, while these lists are compiled by industry experts, Tripadvisor's rankings are based on 12 months of reviews from its global travel community, giving a clear picture of what inspires travelers.

The 2026 ranking includes 270 destinations in 60 countries. They include seven sub-categories: Trending Destinations, Best Destinations, Destinations for Culture and History Lovers, Gastronomic Destinations, Honeymoon Destinations and Solo Travel Destinations.

This year, according to Tripadvisor, Portugal's Madeira was named the trendiest destination in the world, followed by Tbilisi in second place and Milan in third place.

Among other remarkable destinations that, Tripadvisor's Miche Dvit, according to travelers, "justifies the hype", Tbilisi.

As the travel platform points out, the capital of Georgia is full of energy right now. New cultural spaces are emerging in the city. In addition, Georgia also attracts digital nomads. Last year, Nomad Capitalist named it one of the best countries for telecommuting “thanks to its business-friendly environment, favorable tax regime and liberal immigration policy”.
