Construction of the Hyatt is expected to be completed in 2029

The date of the start of operation of the Hyatt Regency Tbilisi hotel in the center of Tbilisi is still unknown, however, according to the schedule, the completion of construction works is planned in 2029.

The former building of the Ministry of Justice located at #30 Rustaveli Avenue was purchased by "Rustaveli Fraferti" from the state in 2012 for 13 million GEL.

Speaking to Kommersant, the director of "Rustaveli Freeferty" and the head of PDP, the management company of Ibis Styles Old Tbilisi, Mindia Gadevi, stated that the postponement of the opening date of the hotel was due to a number of reasons, including the unprofitability of the hotel business, because "these are long-term projects whose payback period is at least 10 years". According to him, the company has no obligations regarding the deadlines and accordingly implements the project according to its own business plan and calculations.

Hyatt Regency Tbilisi will be a hotel with 180 rooms. The top floor of the hotel will house a swimming pool, a bar and two restaurants, a meeting room and a meeting hall.
