According to Saxstat, in 2025, 2.9 million people left Georgia abroad

In 2025, there were 2.9 million departures of Georgian resident travelers abroad from the territory of Georgia, which is 2.8 percent more than the figure of the previous year. The largest share of trips, 43.5 percent, was made by travelers aged 31-50.

According to "Sakstat" data, the number of visits made by Georgian resident visitors abroad amounted to 2.2 million, which is 0.1 percent less than the figure of 2024.

In 2025, resident visitors of Georgia made 1.5 million tourist-type visits abroad, which is 4.3 percent more than the previous year.

The majority of visits, 47.0 percent, were made by Georgian resident visitors aged 31-50, and the number of visits made by women made up 46.4 percent of the total number of visits.

In 2025, the highest number of visits, 36.1 percent, was made to visit friends/relatives. Most of the visits were made to Turkey and Russia 836.0 and 367.3 thousand visits in the Federation, respectively.

The average number of nights spent during visits in 2025 amounted to 6.97 nights, which is 0.1 percent less than the previous year's figure (6.98 nights). 98.1 percent of visits were repeat visits.

In 2025, the expenses incurred during the visits amounted to 2.4 billion GEL, which is 5.9 percent more than the figure of the previous year. The average cost per visit increased by 6.0 percent compared to 2024 and amounted to 1,068.6 GEL.
