Rabat prison complex will be rehabilitated
The Municipal Development Fund has announced a market survey on the rehabilitation works of the Rabat prison complex in Akhaltsikhe.
As we read in the attached documentation of the market research, at this stage detailed design and cost accounting documentation should be prepared for the rehabilitation of the immovable monument of cultural heritage with the category of national importance.
As it turns out, despite the historical importance and tourist potential of Rabat Castle, the complex has been damaged over time and requires a complex rehabilitation intervention to improve its physical condition, preserve the architectural-artistic values and historical authenticity of Rabat Castle.
It can be seen from the documents that as a result of the low-quality construction carried out in 2011-2012, the physical condition of the monument is serious. Most buildings of the complex are damaged.
As a result of the implementation of the project, the complete rehabilitation of the damaged buildings is planned: the citadel as a whole; the arch near the museum; marble arched roof; ceiling of Pasha's room; upper entrance towers; roof and balcony of the administration building; tower and roof in front of the administration; the existing stone floor of the cafe-bar; the roof of the children's room; lower bathroom roofs; roof of information; Roof of "Rabati" restaurant; the roof of Meskhur Oda; "Beeline" room roof; Natenadze restaurant roof; roof of the church; roof of the entrance tower; Museum and museum storage.
"As a result of the implementation of the project, the complete rehabilitation of the damaged buildings is planned, which will strengthen the importance of Akhaltsikhe as a tourist and cultural center and contribute to the growth of the economic potential of the region. The rehabilitated monument will be organically integrated into the public life of the city and will become a center of cultural and social attraction for the local population", - we read in the documentation.
