The quality of Georgian wine improves every year
With the support of the National Wine Agency, about 20 family wineries producing Georgian wine participated in the RAW Wine NYC-Si exhibition held in the city of New York, USA.
Exhibition at RAW Wine (The Artisan Wine Fair) brings together producers of high-quality natural, organic and biodynamic wines from different countries of the world.
"One of the main goals of the activities of the National Wine Agency is to promote the increase in the awareness of the wine of family wineries on the international markets. At this exhibition, we have the opportunity to present Kvevri wine on a large scale, introduce it to representatives of the wine industry with an international reputation, and give the producers the opportunity to find potential importers", said Elene Kiknadze, head of the Department of Coordination of Exhibitions and Events of the National Wine Agency.
RAW Wine exhibition is organized by famous wine master from France Isabelle Legeron. This year, the Georgian wine cellar Ebi, also with the support of the National Wine Agency, participated in the RAW Wine exhibitions held in Paris, Shanghai, Tokyo, Copenhagen and Verona.
"This year we have the largest representation from Georgia. When we taste Georgian wines, it's obvious how different each of them is. Such a variety of grape varieties is really unique. It's very nice that more and more winemakers are working with hitherto little-known varieties. Before, we mainly saw Rkatsiteli and Saperavi, but now we often see Kisi, Khivhi, Green, as well as Rosé and naturally sparkling, which is very It's gratifying. Accordingly, the quality is improving every year and the variety of styles is increasing," said Isabelle Legeron.
Consul General of Georgia Maya Bartaya attended the Georgian Wine Festival in New York. Georgian winemakers received support from the General Consulate of Georgia in New York to present their wine in the USA.
During one week, Georgian wine in New York It was organized at two important events – the first Georgian amber wine festival Amber Georgia and the exhibition at RAW Wine NYC.
In order to increase the export potential of Georgian wine and diversify markets, with the financial and organizational support of the National Wine Agency, in 10 months of 2025, Georgian wine was presented at 29 exhibitions-festivals and up to 250 tasting-seminars in the USA, Europe and Asia, in total up to 20 countries.
