The ranking of the safest countries in the world has been published

The American company Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection presented the ranking of the world's safest countries for tourists by 2026. The study is based on data from the Global Peace Index, reports from Numbeo and GeoSure Global, as well as surveys of Americans who have traveled abroad in the past five years.

The first place in the list was taken by the Netherlands, which received high marks for the level of safety, healthcare and tolerance.

Last year's winner, Iceland, was relegated to fourth place. The ranking was affected by the series of volcanic eruptions, which affected the tourist infrastructure. Nevertheless, the country maintains a high level of security.

The authors of the study note that the ranking reflects the situation “ at a particular point in time" and can change rapidly. Natural disasters, political instability or an increase in crime can change the level of security even in the most prosperous countries.
