Business travel spending in Europe will reach 390 billion euros in 2026
Business travel spending in Europe will reach €389.9 billion in 2026, up 8.2% from 2025, despite economic challenges and political uncertainty, according to a new regional analysis presented at a conference in Hamburg on November 10 by the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA).
Experts also note that by 2028, business travel spending in the region will increase to 441.6 billion euros, which is less than last year's forecast of 476.6 billion euros.
In 2025, Western Europe, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, will account for 88% of business travel spending in Europe. The share of developing Europe, defined by the GBTA as Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Turkey and Ukraine, is 12%.
