ICAO regional meeting is held in Tbilisi
On November 11-12, at the "Telegraph" hotel in Tbilisi, the Association of Airports of Georgia is hosting a regional workshop of the International Civil Aviation Organization - ICAO. The ICAO working meeting, which is being held in cooperation with the Airbus company, aims at the effective introduction of new standards and requirements by the International Civil Aviation Organization to increase the safety of flights at airports. Member of the workshop ICAO Up to 35 representatives of civil aviation regulatory bodies, airport operators and industry from countries in Europe and the North Atlantic region are attending.
General Director of the Association of Airports of Georgia Levan Moseshvili and Chairman of the Aeronautical Supervisory Board, Chairman of ICAO Aviation Systems Planning Regional Group (ICAO EASPG), Levan Karanadze addressed the participants of the event with a welcome speech.
It was emphasized that holding an international format workshop in Tbilisi, Mn It is a rare opportunity to further strengthen the development of the country's aviation sector and compliance with international standards.
During two days, the participants of the meeting will discuss the 14th Annex (ICAO Annex 14) of the 1944 Chicago Convention of International Civil Aviation (ICAO). which deals with airport design and operating standards. Also, ICAO has recently introduced a new classification system for airfield artificial cover and aircraft classification, the effective implementation of which is becoming mandatory in airports around the world.
The new evaluation system allows more accurate and unified international standard to determine the effective use and loading capacity of the airport's runway, runway and apron for different types of aircraft.
The participants of the workshop get acquainted with the basic principles and practical aspects of the system, exchange experience, discuss issues of regulation and operation, which affect airport security and efficient infrastructure management.
On the Georgian side, representatives of the Union of Georgian Airports, Civil Aviation Agency Aeronavigation and TAV Georgia are present at the event.
