Presentation of Georgian wine in Canada

Organized by the National Wine Agency and with the support of the Embassy of Georgia in Canada, Georgian wine was presented at one of the most prestigious wine and alcoholic beverage festivals in Montreal, "La Grande Dégustation de Montréal". 

The festival "La Grande Dégustation de Montréal" is held for the fifteenth year and it is considered one of the largest events in the Quebec region, with up to 10 thousand visitors every year.  

The guests of the festival had the opportunity to taste nine types of Georgian wines, which are already sold in the regions of Quebec and Ontario. 

The guests of the event showed great interest in Georgian wine, which is important for the promotion of Georgia and Georgian wine. The festival was attended by wine professionals, journalists, wine writers and importers from different countries of the world. 

Wines from Canada, France, Italy, Spain, etc. were presented at the festival from Austria, Greece, Romania and other countries.  

The event was attended by Salome Kurasbediani, the temporary chargé d'affaires of Georgia in Canada, and representatives of the embassy.  

In recent years, the export of Georgian wine to Canada has been growing steadily every year. According to the data of 2024, up to 200,000 liters of wine are exported to Canada, which is 16% higher than the same figure of the previous year. The income received from the export of wine amounted to 1.1 million US dollars, and compared to the previous year, a 35% increase was recorded. The growth trend continues even in 2025;  According to the data of 10 months, 193 thousand liters of wine were exported; Compared to the same period last year, the increase was 19%. The income from the export of Georgian wine to Canada in 10 months reached 1.2 million GEL, which is 32% higher than the same figure last year.
