Global Blue is considering entering the Georgian market

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili met with Khalil Achkar, Vice President of the international company Global Blue. The mentioned company is one of the world leaders in the field of Tax Free Shopping and payment technologies.

At the meeting, the conversation touched on the trends of economic development of Georgia, special attention was paid to tourism, civil aviation, retail and other adjacent sectors. It was noted that various tourism products are being actively introduced in Georgia, which contribute to attracting more visitors with purchasing power to the country.

As mentioned at the meeting, based on the stable development of the Georgian economy, as well as the growing dynamics of the added value of tourism and its adjacent industries, Global Blue is considering entering the Georgian market.

It was also said that this will strengthen the economic effect of tourism in Georgia, as the global standards of Tax Free services increase the spending of tourists.

Also a line It was also mentioned that the start of operations of Global Blue in Georgia will have a positive effect on the retail sector as well - it will contribute to the growth of competitiveness and lead to the entry of more premium brands in the local market, as well as have a positive impact on the development of the digital economy.
