Norwegian starts operating on the Georgian air market

Another low-cost European airline, Norwegian, is entering the Georgian air market. The largest airline in Norway and the second largest in Scandinavia will fly in the Copenhagen-Tbilisi-Copenhagen direction from the summer of 2026.

For the first time in history, direct regular flights between the capitals of the Kingdom of Denmark and Georgia will be operated twice a week from June 27, 2026.

  The Association of Georgian Airports has successfully completed the final round of proactive negotiations with Norwegian.

It should be noted that there has never been a direct regular flight between the two capitals. Kutaisi International Airport connected Georgia with Copenhagen by direct air. 

In 2024, 32,384 passengers used the direct route between Denmark and Georgia. In total, 22,552 visitors from Scandinavian countries visited Georgia in 2024. 

The second largest airline in Scandinavia, Norwegian, has been operating since 1993 and in terms of passenger traffic, It is the fourth largest low-cost airline in Europe.

Norwegian has been named the best low-cost airline in Northern Europe in 2021 by Skytrax.
