Levan Moseshvili: for the first time in history, direct regular flights will be made between Tbilisi and Copenhagen

The second largest airline in Scandinavia, Norwegian, starts operating on the Georgian air market. The Association of Georgian Airports has successfully completed the final round of proactive negotiations with Norwegian.

According to the General Director of the Union of Airports, Levan Moseshvili, there has never been a direct regular flight between the two capitals. Kutaisi International Airport connected Georgia with Copenhagen by direct air.

"There is important news on the Georgian aviation market. Another low-cost European carrier is entering our country. Norwegian Airlines, the second largest airline in Scandinavia, will start operating the Copenhagen-Tbilisi-Copenhagen direct route from the summer of 2026.

From June 27, for the first time in history, there will be direct regular flights between our capitals twice a week. This decision will strengthen tourism, business and cultural ties between Georgia and Scandinavia .

We are glad that the Georgian air market is growing, along with the variety of airlines, and our country is becoming even more accessible to European passengers,'' said Levan Moseshvili.

In 2024, 32,384 passengers used the direct route between Denmark and Georgia. In total, 22,552 visitors from Scandinavian countries visited Georgia in 2024.

The second largest airline in Scandinavia, Norwegian has been operating since 1993 and is the fourth largest low-cost airline in Europe in terms of passenger traffic. Norwegian has been named the best low-cost airline in Northern Europe in 2021 by Skytrax.
