"The expansion/rehabilitation of the aircraft stand is planned to the west of the stand, by 8,200 m2. The purpose of the expansion is to arrange a stand for "C" category aircraft, as well as a helicopter stand. In the area of ​​expansion, it is planned to change the places of the existing communications - drainage system, sewage network, electric supply, underground lines and design new connections.

According to the presented information, within the framework of the change of operating conditions, three spaces will be built in the existing passenger terminal building: I space (194.3 m2) is used as an office for employed personnel; II space (126.4 m2) – auxiliary building for the improvement of the employed personnel and airport operations; III space (103.0 m2) – with comfort and regulation of passenger flow whose."

It is not known why the Deputy Airport Manager is officially requesting reconfirmation that the project does not require the preparation of an environmental monitoring report. Batumi City Hall has not yet uploaded the complete documents for public information.

At the same time, the state company "Sakaeronavigatsia" plans to conduct a new study to determine how to change the security zone of the area adjacent to the Batumi airport.

One of the goals of the study will be to "develop customized safety surfaces, including height zoning" for Batumi International Airport, which will ensure both flight safety and "more flexibility of urban development" of the city.
