Wines of West Georgia - article on "The Wine Palate".

The author of the article, American wine master Lisa Perrotti-Brown, who has been working in the wine industry for more than 25 years, visited West Georgia in October of this year as part of the cooperation between the National Wine Agency and the American company "Big Sky Ranch Inc".

Lisa Perotti-Brown was in Imereti and Racha, where she got acquainted with various Georgian wines and Georgian wine-making traditions. A special tasting was also held in Tbilisi, where Lisa Perotti-Brown tasted about 50 wines from different wine companies.

"I have visited Kakheti several times in the last fifteen years; after my first trip to Imereti and Racha, the differences between the regions of Georgia became even more obvious. Western Georgia tends towards acidity, variety and sophistication, influenced by the sea climate, higher elevations, lighter maceration and small-scale farms," the author of the article wrote.

Lisa Perotti-Brown Sta Tashi talks about the evaluations of the 10 best wines selected from the wines tasted in Western Georgia.

It should be noted that the American master of wine Lisa Perotti-Brown was in Georgia in July of this year. After the visit, Lisa Perotti-Brown published an article on Georgian wine evaluations entitled "Georgian wines on the global stage" in The Wine Palate in September. The Wine Palate online publication includes a database of expertly rated wines from around the world, with up-to-date reviews.

The United States of America is one of the strategic export markets for Georgian wine. With the support of the National Wine Agency, the targeted marketing activities implemented since 2013 significantly contributed to the increase in the awareness and export of Georgian wine in the USA.
