Hotel prices in Tbilisi and Batumi were 15-20% higher than in Europe
Giorgi Dolidze, the director of the management company HSC Group Hospitality, spoke about the development of tourism in Georgia and explained that in many cases, the demand is very high, which, therefore, causes the prices to increase to the maximum.
"If you had seen the prices of branded hotels in the leading capitals of Europe this year, they might have been 15-20% higher in Tbilisi and Batumi, which is not bad. On the contrary, this emphasizes that the country is in demand and many tourists arrive who can afford to pay large sums of money. When the occupancy of the hotel exceeds 70%, the prices increase to the maximum, which is an absolutely natural process," explains Giorgi Dolidze.
According to him, due to high competition, some hotels may have to reduce their prices in 2024-2025, however, as more branded hotels are interested in the Georgian market, this will bring even more good to the country.
"I think that the more branded hotels there will be in Georgia, in the future will have a very positive impact on the country's marketing and promotion. The most important thing is that no matter which international brand is opened, 95% of our population is employed there, which will have a positive effect on the improvement of the service", Giorgi Dolidze says.
