"Our task is to develop ecotourism"

"Our task, in parallel with the development of ecotourism, is to support the local population in improving the skills necessary for the development of ecotourism in order to create quality services and become a carrier of nature-based economic activity," Tamar Khakhishvili, Deputy Chairman of the Protected Areas Agency, says. 

According to his information, the Agency of Protected Areas promotes the development of eco-friendly activities through small grants, trainings and supporting programs.

"As soon as a protected area is created, the possibility of developing ecotourism services appears simultaneously, which allows the local population to start various eco-friendly activities and improve their social and economic situation.

The activity includes arranging family-type hotels, opening catering establishments, developing various service areas, organizing horse riding or other tourist offers", - G. Tamar Khakhishvili, Deputy Chairman of the Protected Areas Agency, announced.
